On Thursday, April 15, 2010, 450 people gathered for an inspired evening to spotlight Boston's most innovative efforts to support the educational achievements of urban youth .
Continuing the theme of “Together, Let’s Change the Odds” the 2010 Bostonians for Youth event raised more than $200,000 in support of the partner organizations' work in education.
“Inspiring Boston” awards were given to four outstanding honorees for their progressive work. Chris and Hilary Gabrieli and Dr. Carol R. Johnson are working to improve public education in Boston and across Massachusetts. Dr. Robert Holub, Chancellor of the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, and Mary L. Fifield, President of Bunker Hill Community College, were honored for their work toward making higher education more accessible to urban youth.
Proceeds equally benefited the event partners: Families United in Educational Leadership (FUEL), Roxbury Presbyterian Church Social Impact Center, and the Trinity Boston Foundation.
Together, let's change the odds.
